It was a busy day today for Joker: Folie A Deux. The sequel to the smash-hit Joker got its first poster, which you can see below. The upcoming DC film also got the first audio of Lady Gaga’s version of Harley Quinn. Finally, the new trailer for the film releases on April 9th.
In addition to the poster and release date for the first trailer, internet sleuths found an audio file of dialogue from Lady Gaga’s portrayal of Harley Quinn. Check it out in this Tweet.
Joker: Folie A Deux has a release date of October 4th, 2024. The only other time the iconic DC Comics character has been played in live-action has been Margot Robbie‘s performances in The Suicide Squad, Suicide Squad, and Birds of Prey. Joaquin Phoenix returns as joker alongside Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, and Catherine Keener. Todd Phillips and Scott Silver wrote the screenplay.
“Folie A Deux” means “shared psychosis” or “shared delusional disorder” which almost assuredly is for the relationship between Joker and Harley Quinn.
The first Joker film was a massive success for WB and made over $1 billion at the box office. This new film has about double the budget of the first film, so a lot is riding on it for DC and Warner Bros.
