The world of Orphan Black returns this summer on AMC. Now, we finally have a closer look at Orphan Black: Echoes, which the new teaser bills as “a completely unique copy of the original”. (Very clever, clone show.)
Check out the teaser and first look images from the series below.
Here’s the official synopsis of Orphan Black: Echoes from AMC:
Set in the near future, Orphan Black: Echoes takes a deep dive into the exploration of the scientific manipulation of human existence. It follows a group of women as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unraveling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal.
The series stars Krysten Ritter (Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Love and Death) as Lucy, a woman with an unimaginable origin story, trying to find her place in the world. Ritter also serves as an executive producer on the series.
In addition to Ritter, the cast also includes Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard, It’s A Sin, Amanda Fix (North of Normal, High School), Avan Jogia (Now Apocalypse, Zombieland: Double Tap), Rya Kihlstedt (A Teacher, One Mississippi) and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry, The Dropout).
Anna Fishko (The Society, Fear the Walking Dead) serves as creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer of Orphan Black: Echoes. John Fawcett, the co-creator of the original series, executive produces and directs Echoes. David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, who also EP’ed Orphan Black return for this series as well.
The original Orphan Black earned wide critical acclaim, especially for star Tatiana Maslany, who played multiple roles over the show’s five seasons. The series celebrates its 11th anniversary on March 30. You can stream the entire series on AMC+ now.
Until then, the Clone Club reunion will officially kick off this summer. Tune in Sunday, June 23 when Orphan Black: Echoes premieres on AMC, AMC+, and BBC America.
