Back in April Vin Diesel took to instagram to tease John Cena joining Fast and Furious 9. On Friday Universal officially announced that Cena was on board.
John Cena Joins the Fast & Furious
Now that Cena joins the cast there are sure to be more cast announcements. We might even get a new title for film. There is no word yet on whether Cena will be part of the crew or a new antagonist for Dom and his family.
This news comes on the heels of learning that another big star is joining the overall franchise, as well. Keanu Reeves will join the cast of Hobbs & Shaw, as well. Fans saw John Cena as Agent Burns in last year’s Transformers blockbuster, Bumblebee.
Writer Dan Casey is in charge of the screenplay for Fast & Furious 9. And Justin Lin is set to direct Production starts this month and the film will be released on May 22, 2020.
