Eli Roth is living his dream of getting a slasher franchise. In a post to his personal Instagram, the director of Thanksgiving announced that a second movie is in the works for 2025. Sony TriStar plans on releasing the film “probably around Thanksgiving 2025.” Eli Roth is back to direct and he’ll be writing the film with Jeff Rendell.
“We’re gonna take a year off so we can really, really write a great script. We want to outdo ourselves. Make it better than the first one,” Says Roth in the video above.

Thanksgiving is still in theaters and carving up quite a box office haul for Sony. It’s crossed $30 million globally in its first two weeks. The film is set in Plymouth in the aftermath of a Black Friday riot gone deadly. A killer terrorizes the town killing off the people who were involved with the riot.
The cast includes Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Jalen Thomas Brooks (“Walker”), Milo Manheim (Zombies), Nell Verlaque (“Big Shot”), Gina Gershon (“Chucky”), Tim Dillon and Rick Hoffman (Hostel). You can read our review of it below!
