Invincible is back on Prime Video with the first part of the second season. It’s been two years since we were re-introduced to the world of Invincible; based on the comic book series by Skybound’s Robert Kirkman.
That season ended in spectacular fashion with the face-off between father, Omi Man, voiced by J.K. Simmons, and Mark, voiced by Steven Yeun. Now, we are thrown back into that world where Omni Man has disappeared. Seemingly the only thing left is the emotional trauma of a broken family. It is in dark times like those usually evil takes advantage of the situation to further nefarious plots. For fans of Invincible, there is a lot to be excited about.
With the release of the new season of Invincible, we talked with Executive Producer and Co-Showrunner Simon Racioppa. He shares with us some of the expectations for the new seasons and how much time is dedicated to the emotional trauma of Mark and his mother. As well as talks about their decision not to do recaps that usually help new viewers refresh their memory about the events of the previous season/episode. As well as his input on the idea of “superhero fatigue”.
Here is the synopsis for the second season of Prime Video’s Invincible:
Based on the groundbreaking comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the story revolves around 18-year-old Mark Grayson, who’s just like every other guy his age—except his father is (or was) the most powerful superhero on the planet. Still reeling from Nolan’s betrayal in Season One, Mark struggles to rebuild his life as he faces a host of new threats, all while battling his greatest fear – that he might become his father without even knowing it.
The first part of the second season of Invincible is now exclusively on Prime Video.
