TMNT: The Last Ronin was a 2020 graphic novel that offered a much darker take on the usual Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fare. For one thing: the story turns into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in a very singular form. All this implies that the upcoming video game adaptation will feature a very dark story. The new reveal trailer for it only reinforces that notion. What reveal trailer, you might ask? Well, the new one that just popped up. You can check out that trailer below, and see the subtly implied tragedy for yourself:
TMNT: The Last Ronin ~ Details
THQ Nordic, Nickelodeon, and Black Forest are proud to reveal TMNT: The Last Ronin with that reveal trailer above on YouTube. The trailer itself is very short at only 45 seconds long. However, it manages to pack an incredible amount of story into those 45 seconds that it feels like a longer trailer. The sequence is simple: 4 candle flames start out burning, and then one by one, to the scene of an underwater venue, a burning locale, and a desert battlefield, the flames go out. By the end, there’s only a single flame left. That would be your player Turtle: the last surviving brother. Wow, that got dark rather quickly, didn’t it?
Alas though, this reveal trailer reveals precious little else. It does reveal that TMNT: The Last Ronin will be for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Other than that though, nothing. We don’t even have a release date for you all. All we have is a confirmation that this video game is “in development” at the very end of the trailer, and that’s it. Hopefully, we’ll get more information from THQ Nordic, Nickelodeon, and/or Black Forest about this game at a later time. Tune back in to THS later to find out that info when we get it.
