You might not want to keep reading if you missed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The post-credits scene for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 teased, “The Legendary Star-Lord Will Return.” This is a customary thing that Marvel does at the end of most of their movies to tease for the future. However, it specifically didn’t mention any of the other Guardians. If you thought that meant Chris Pratt‘s Star-Lord was going to show up alongside the Avengers in the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars, think again.

According to James Gunn on the Commentary track for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘s home video release, he and Pratt discussed the possibility of a The Legendary Star-Lord movie. It would take place on Earth and feature Peter in a new element. The idea would be to take someone out of their time/place and put them on modern-day Earth.

“Chris and I, forever, have talked about how great it would be to do a Legendary Star-Lord movie, a story with Star-Lord on Earth trying to adapt to the environment of Earth in the same way that somebody else might try to adapt to the alien environment of outer space, He’s a fish out of water in just kind of…regular water. So I can’t wait to see it.”

Gunn might be involved with DC Films now as the co-head of that department, but he hopes to see the Star-Lord project come to fruition at Marvel. If Marvel allowed it to go on the end of the credits for Guardians Vol. 3, it probably means they’ve got something planned for Pratt and Star-Lord.

You can check Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on Digital right now, and on Blu-ray and DVD in August.
