It’s been a while since we’ve had Conan O’Brien on our screens. Now that HBO Max is becoming just Max, we’ll see a four-episode international travel series from Conan! It’s titled Conan O’Brien Must Go. The series was announced Wednesday at Warner Bros. Discovery’s upfront panel in New York. Upfronts are when media companies show off what they have planned for the coming year to advertisers. According to Max, the new show will follow O’Brien as he travels the globe visiting people he’s met through his podcast “Conan O’Brien Needs A Fan”.

Here’s what Conan had to say about the new show.

“My fans around the globe never asked me to visit them, so I did.”

This fulfills the promise made that Conan would get a weekly show on HBO Max after his TBS late-night show Conan ended in June 2021. It half fulfills that promise because it won’t be a weekly show, but it’s still more Conan in our lives.

HBO programming executive VP Nina Rosenstein had this to say about it.

“Conan is a national treasure…at least that’s what he keeps telling me. It’s been an absolute dream to work with him, Jeff, and the whole Conaco team. They’re everything you’d hope for – insanely smart, ridiculously funny, and nicer than they’d probably want to admit.”

Here’s a first look at the series.
