Ted Lasso keeps making new stars. Emmy nominee Juno Temple is joining the Marvel/Sony film Venom 3. According to Deadline, she is in negotiations to star alongside Tom Hardy, with Kelly Marcel taking over the directing duties. Marcel also wrote the screenplay based on a story she and Hardy wrote. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker are producing.
There’s not much known about the plot other than Hardy returning as the lethal protector Venom following the first two films. The other wrinkle that’s not known at this time is how it connects to the Sony Spider-Man universe or the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The first two Venom films grossed a combined $1.36 billion worldwide.
Temple’s role is also unknown, but it’s reported that she may be an existing Marvel character with a possibility to return to future projects.
Following her star-making role as Keeley Jones on Ted Lasso, she now has this movie in addition to Fargo‘s fifth season on FX. Deadline’s sources say that she was the top choice for the part. She’s earned Emmy and SAG nominations for each of the seasons Ted Lasso has aired.
