Sure, the uber-rich live by different rules. But avoiding execution by cloning yourself and sending the clone off to be killed instead? That’s pretty next level. Enter Infinity Pool.
The upcoming horror flick from Brandon Cronenberg stars Alexander Skarsgård as a novelist searching for inspiration on his island vacation. But modern horror queen Mia Goth’s presence should give you a hint that this getaway will take a dark turn.
Here’s the official synopsis of Infinity Pool from NEON:
While staying at an isolated island resort, James (Skarsgård) and Em (Cleopatra Coleman) are enjoying a perfect vacation of pristine beaches, exceptional staff, and soaking up the sun. But guided by the seductive and mysterious Gabi (Goth), they venture outside the resort grounds and find themselves in a culture filled with violence, hedonism, and untold horror. A tragic accident leaves them facing a zero-tolerance policy for crime: either you’ll be executed, or, if you’re rich enough to afford it, you can watch yourself die instead.
The film also released a poster today. Check it out below.
Infinity Pool will make its world premiere at Sundance Film Festival in January. Shortly after, it will release in theaters January 27.
