Meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Netflix’s The Crown recently cast both Prince William and Kate Middleton for the upcoming sixth season.
The Crown nabbed two different actors to play William at different ages. Rufus Kampa will play 15-year-old William, while Ed McVey will play the prince in his later teens and early adulthood. Meg Bellamy will appear in the series as Kate Middleton.
The upcoming season of the show will deal with the aftermath of the passing of Diana, Princess of Wales. For Prince William, this includes growing up after his mother’s death and studying at the University of St. Andrews, where he meets Kate.
The Crown will mark the first TV project for each Kampa, McVey, and Bellamy.
Season 5 of The Crown will premiere on Netflix in November. It stars Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Jonathan Pryce as the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, and Dominic West as the Prince of Wales.
West’s son, Senan West, will play William in the final episode of season five, with Timothee Sambor also playing the younger version of the prince. Teddy Hawley and Will Powell will play young Prince Harry. Casting for older Prince Harry in season 6 has not yet been announced.
