You know how the developer and publisher of Undertale, Toby Fox, is working on his new game Deltarune? Well, as it turns out, that’s not the only game he’s working with. Not if Nintendo has anything to say about it, Pokémon-wise.
Gotta Compose ‘Em All!
Toby Fox has just taken to Twitter to reveal that he played a pretty big role in developing Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Apparently, he’s the main composer of the music for the game. Specifically, his Tweet revealed that he composed the field music for the games. Judging from his words, he apparently composed all of the field music, which is a pretty big role for the developer of Undertale. It’s good to see Nintendo recognize the quality of that game, especially in the music department.
Not only that, but Game Freak apparently took that music, and arranged it into multiple versions. It’s actually pretty similar to what Toby Fox did for his own music in Undertale. You can actually hear some of Toby Fox’s efforts in the official trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet below.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Details
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be the latest in the best-selling Pokémon series of role-playing games, and is in fact the 9th generation of the games. Game Freak is the developer of the games, with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company publishing it.
As for what Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is about? Well, if you’re familiar with the general premise of the Pokémon games, then you can probably expect more of the same. If you aren’t though, then Nintendo has a synopsis for these latest games available on their online store. Check it out below:
“The newest chapters in the Pokémon™ series, the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games, are coming to the Nintendo Switch™ system later this year. As the main character, you can explore a wide-open world at your own pace, and can encounter the Legendary Pokémon Koraidon in Pokémon Scarlet and Miraidon in Pokémon Violet. In these games, you’ll be able to enjoy the iconic adventures of the Pokémon series, like battling against wild Pokémon and trying to catch them! Choose either Sprigatito, the Grass Cat Pokémon, Fuecoco, the Fire Croc Pokémon, or Quaxly, the Duckling Pokémon to be your first partner Pokémon before setting off on your journey through this new region.”
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will launch on November 18, 2022. The games will be Nintendo Switch exclusives, so you’re going to need one to play either game. You can preorder Scarlet or Violet separately on the Nintendo eShop for $59.99 each. You can also preorder the double pack containing both games also on the Nintendo eShop for $119.99.
