OPUS: Echo of Starsong is one of the best indie games out there, and it seems the internet thought so too. Why else would it win an award at the 2022 Webby Awards? And apparently, make Remi’s century?

The 2022 Webby Awards (and Steam) have just announced that OPUS: Echo of Starsong by SIGONO is one of the 2 winners of of the award under the Independent Creator Games category. The other winner is DARQ: The Complete Edition, but that’s unimportant for now. This is big news for this little-known sci-fi adventure game. The Webby Awards are basically “The Oscars of the Internet”, according to The New York Times. For any game to win this award is a feat equal to any Dune or West Side Story. Let’s just say that there’s a very big reason why this game got 90 out of 100 on Metacritic.

OPUS: Echo of Starsong ~ Details

Dammit, hearing this song is making me tear up all over again.

OPUS: Echo of Starsong is a sci-fi text-driven side-scrolling adventure game (that’s also basically a visual novel) developed and published by SIGONO that launched on September 1, 2021. It is in fact the third game in their OPUS series after OPUS: The Day We Found Earth and OPUS: Rocket of Whispers. There’s a strong focus on story, puzzles, and exploration like in the previous games. However, Echo of Starsong takes those elements to new heights. Not to mention giving you a serious case of the onion ninjas at the very end.

As for what OPUS: Echo of Starsong is about? Well, SIGONO has a synopsis of the game in the video description of their launch trailer on YouTube. Check it out below:

““We will find each other, no matter how long it takes.”
An Asian space opera about fate bringing two lovers together, only to tear them apart.

Opus: Echo of Starsong is a narrative adventure game set in a lawless sci-fi universe. Players will play as Jun, an exiled adventurer. And Eda, a girl who can sing mysterious “starsongs”. With the help of Eda’s Starsongs, the duo will explore uncharted asteroids and solve puzzles as they venture out to the heart of space to unravel an ancient myth.”

Want to find out what happens to Jun and Eda (and Remi) for yourself? Then you can purchase OPUS: Echo of Starsong on Steam. In fact, SIGONO is selling the Deluxe Edition bundle for this game at a 24% discount from May 5-11, 2022 because of winning the Webby Awards. If you want to not only play this game but experience all the extras, then I highly recommend this bundle.
