The Walking Dead might be almost over with, but that’s not stopping AMC from doing spin-offs from the series. One of those spin-offs was set to be a show based around Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride). Now, according to TVLine, McBride is no longer attached to the series. Instead, the series will just focus on Daryl’s character after the original series. Their sources stated that the decision was due to creative differences.
The character of Daryl Dixon was one that defied odds and the original source material to become arguably the most popular character on the show. The spin-off series, announced in 2020, was to follow the original series’s only remaining original cast members. Walking Dead Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple and Walking Dead Showrunner Angela Kang are co-creating the new series.
The new series could be delayed due to extensive changes that need to be made with McBride out of the project. We’ll keep you updated on this story as it develops.
