Spoilers Ahead, you guys!!
If you read Detective Comics 1000, then you, along with the rest of the literate world, were elated when the title villain from Rocksteady’s smash hit game “Batman: Arkham Knight” made his mainstream comic book debut in the final pages.
Announced at the 80 Years Of Batman Panel at WonderCon this Friday, Greg Capullo expanded on what lies ahead for these two Knights. “Tomasi will not regurgitate the game stuff”, says Capullo, he wants to make it “your Arkham knight.”
Starting in Detective Comics 1001, Batman will face off against the Arkham Knight in an arc called, “Medieval.” Although the comic drops on April 10th, the description of the issue leaves a lot to the imagination.
Arkham Knight Appears in Detective Comics #1001
After 1,000 issues, you’d think Batman could finally have a break…but no: as a new era dawns, he’s facing the most dangerous threat of his career! The Arkham Knight has arrived in Gotham City with an entire round table of deadly allies, and their first encounter will leave Batman shaken to his core!”
While there has been a lot of speculation, no reveals have leaked regarding who is behind the mask of Batman’s new comic adversary. The obvious choice is Jason Todd, as he is in the game. However, in the final pages of Detective Comics 1000, the character doesn’t speak or act like Jason Todd, leaving fans with little to go on.
Batman: Arkham Knight was released back in June of 2015. His identity was a huge source of conjecture and controversy then. It leaked early on that it was Jason Todd only to have Rocksteady deny the rumor… only to reveal that it was, in fact, Jason Todd. And now, almost four years later, here we are speculating and conjecturing again.
