Get ready for a dose of fantasy action this summer. 20th Century Studios will bring the fighting fairy tale The Princess to streaming soon.
The Joey King-led fantasy will officially release on Hulu this July. The movie follows a “skilled and formidable young royal” on a quest to save her kingdom.
Here’s the official synopsis of The Princess from 20th Century Studios:
When a beautiful, strong-willed princess refuses to wed the cruel sociopath to whom she is betrothed, she is kidnapped and locked in a remote tower of her father’s castle. With her scorned, vindictive suitor intent on taking her father’s throne, the princess must protect her family and save the kingdom.
In addition to King, The Princess also stars Dominic Cooper (Preacher), Olga Kurylenko (Marvel’s Black Widow), and Veronica Ngo (The Old Guard).
The Princess comes from director Le-Van Kiet (Furie). Ben Lustig (The Thirst) and Jake Thornton (Final Fantasy) wrote the film. Star King serves as an executive producer, along with Guy Riedel. The movie is also produced by Neal H. Moritz (the Fast and Furious franchise), Toby Jaffe (Total Recall) and Derek Kolstad (John Wick). And while we don’t know much about The Princess yet, with a team like that, it looks like this fantasy flick will also bring the action.
The Princess premieres on Hulu in the US July 1. The film will also stream internationally on Star+ in Latin America, and on Disney+ in all other territories.
