Star Wars Celebration is fast approaching. The main headlines focus on what stars will be there, and news/trailers for The Mandalorian, Episode IX or other new projects. Another project growing in the shadows will finally be revealed- Jedi: Fallen Order.

What To Expect From Fallen Order

This new video game by Respawn Entertainment will not only have its own panel. It will be simulcast live to those not at celebration. The head of Respawn, Vince Zampella, and game director Stig Asmussen will lead the panel. You can watch it live April 13, 2019 at 2:30 pm ET.

There were several games scheduled and in production, but all of them have since been shut down. Star Wars video game fanatics wondered why Disney hasn’t done more with the video game industry. Battlefronts I and II pretty much bombed and caused some controversy that put a bad light on EA.

A little game was announced some time ago called Jedi: Fallen Order. Little is known about the game so far. We have been told it will follow Revenge of the Sith and likely follow a Jedi/padawan post order 66. We do not know if this single person game will be similar to Force Unleashed or be more of a lightsaber dueling game.

Back To Basic Gaming?

Oddly enough, this game, besides being the first Star Wars game in some time, has other stakes riding on its shoulders. Game developers have declared the third person adventure game dead for the most part. Every game that is released now a days is an online multi person shoot em up gaming platform.

If Jedi: Fallen Order can be successful, it may help push the video game industry back towards third person adventure games. The nice thing about games like this is that you do not need the internet or an online community for support. One can simply play and enjoy at their own skill level and pace. (Instead of, for instance, your success being dictated by which team has the biggest professional whales on it.)

The downside to such games is that it is harder for companies to squeeze money out of players. There is no reason extra skins, levels and areas could not be released later with DLC packs. They are not needed for basic gameplay, but it can make the game more fun for fans that want the extras.

As with a great many other things, the veil will be lifted the second weekend in April. Can’t wait to see what this game is all about!
