AMC’s ready to put the “interview” in Interview with the Vampire. The series adaptation of Anne Rice’s novel just added Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy.

Bogosian plays an investigative journalist nearing the end of his career who’s given a second chance at the interview of a lifetime. He will encounter vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac and begin uncovering his life story.

Bogosian joins previously announced leads Jacob Anderson (Louis), Sam Reid (Lestat), and Bailey Bass (Claudia).

Based on Rice’s bestselling novel, Interview with the Vampire follows Louis, Lestat, and Claudia’s epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality. The AMC series comes from creator and showrunner Rolin Jones (Perry Mason) and executive producer Mark Johnson (Breaking Bad).

“In 1988, I hit my mom up for money three times to see Talk Radio in the movie theaters. I count Eric Bogosian as one of the half dozen artists who made me want to do this for a career. He is, for me, the dented car fender of the American Soul and I can think of no better actor/writer alive to play this role. I’m in total frothing geek mode about his casting,” said Jones.

Bogosian is a playwright and actor best known for Talk Radio, for which he earned both Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award nominations. He recently appeared in the feature Uncut Gems, and starred as Captain Danny Ross in sixty episodes of Law & Order: CI. He also appeared in Succession and Billions.

AMC’s Interview with the Vampire has been greenlit for a seven episode first season. The series will premiere later this year.

The network is also currently working on developing another Rice property, Lives of the Mayfair Witches.
