According to a source very close to ThatHashtagShow, former six-time IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion KUSHIDA has officially reported to the WWE Performance Center.
KUSHIDA wrestled his farewell match in New Japan Pro Wrestling in a losing effort to then IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi. The match took place at the end of January during the Road to Thew New Beginning tour in Korakuen, and KUSHIDA’s contract expired shortly after. This ended a nine year run with the company. Rumors favorited WWE as his landed place, but also had AEW or even Impact as a landing spot.
The rumors can now be confirmed as KUSHIDA was seen at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando today. Most likely to get his physical before officially signing with WWE. We cannot confirm if he will be making his debut on NXT, or even the heavily rumored 205 Live. Either brand would be a fantastic fit for the “Time Splitter”.
We can expect to see an official announcement from WWE within the next couple of weeks.
