Yes, Starkiller is in the running for a return. Many popular characters from the extended universe have found their way back into the Star Wars timeline. A great example is Thrawn, EU fans celebrated and gave the animated series Rebels a much needed boost of fandom support.

Coincidentally, Lucasfilm’s Dave Filoni had actually developed a storyline for Galen Marek, the man who would become Starkiller, to appear in Rebels. Although, this didn’t happen, there is obvious attention being given to the character.
