Over the past couple of months, Jeffrey Katzenburg has made steady progress in assembling talent for his upcoming shortform streaming service, Quibi. Short for quick bites, the new service promises to provide “quick bites of captivating entertainment, created for mobile by the best talent, designed to fit perfectly into any moment of your day.”
The new service has come to terms with high-profile directors such as Catherine Hardwicke, Guillermo del Toro and Antoine Fuqua and now have come to terms with Academy Award nominated actress Naomi Watts to headline a new project entitled Wolves and Villagers.
The project, which will be produced by Jeff Blum and Stuart Blumberg, is described as a Fatal Attraction-esque project. Told in 15-minute segments, the series will see a love triangle unfold between Watts, her husband and a young female described as a “Tessa” Thompson type.
Watts, who is repped by CAA (see what I did there?), is also preparing for a major role in the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel. Stay tuned to That Hashtag Show for more on this story as it develops!
