Avatar-opoly?
USAopoly is proud to announce the brand new card and dice game from The Op: Avatar: The Last Airbender Fire Nation Rising. This is actually the latest in The Op’s Rising series of cooperative card and dice games, but that’s not important right now. Especially not to ATLA fans.
USAopoly will release Avatar: The Last Airbender Fire Nation Rising sometime in Summer 2022 for a retail price of $49.99. They don’t give a more specific release date than that, so that’s the info we’ll have to wait for later. Fortunately, you can sign up for a newsletter from USAopoly so that they can automatically email you that info when it arrives.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Fire Nation Rising ~ How Does It Work?
The game itself is primarily a multiplayer game. You can technically play Avatar: The Last Airbender Fire Nation Rising by yourself if you so wish, but it’s probably best played with up to 5 players. Each player leads a team, which is led by one of the Gaang: Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Zuko. Each one of the Gaang has their own dice pools and special abilities, giving you a hopefully unique experience depending on which one you choose.
The gameplay loop in Avatar: The Last Airbender Fire Nation Rising consists of 2 phases. The first phase consists of recruiting new Heroes and fighting Villains. All this is to prepare for The Day of Black Sun, which is the second phase. Claiming victory in 3 Final Battles nets victory for the teams. The catch though is that if 10 Heroes in total are defeated by the Villains, or if a team loses all of their Heroes, then all the teams lose. That’s where the cooperative aspect of the game comes in. All the teams are playing to help one another while fighting with the game itself as the enemy. This is most apparent with the giant Ozai statue, who acts as an omnipresent threat to all players, dealing damage based on Fire Nation cards in play that dictates his direction and Ruin spaces.
