The Despicable Me franchise isn’t ending anytime soon. In an announcement by Universal Pictures and Illuminations Entertainment, the 4th installment of the franchise will be released in 2024.

Meledandri originally confirmed there would be a 4th film in the franchise back in 2017. Despicable Me 4 is set for release on July 3rd, 2024. However, no plot details have been revealed. As we know, the previous film, Despicable Me 3 was released in 2017, and a prequel film, Minions: The Rise of Gru hits theaters this summer.
Despicable Me 4 is the 15th feature film collaboration between Illumination and Universal Pictures. The franchise has made over $1.2 billion at the domestic box office. As well as, inspired ride and play area at Universal Studios Hollywood/Florida.
While announcing the 4th film, the team also announced a new film from writer Mike White on the horizon, Migration. The film is a comedy that follows a family of ducks who convince their overprotective father to go on a vacation as they migrate from New England, through New York City, eventually ending up in the Bahamas. There have been no cast announcements yet. However, the film is set to hit theaters on June 30th, 2023.
