Most details have been kept under wraps for the upcoming Season 2 of Loki. But today we did learn from an exclusive Deadline report, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead have been selected to direct the majority of episodes for the new season.

LOKI SEASON 2

Loki was a hit for Disney+ so it’s no surprise Marvel Studios is looking to start work quickly on Season 2. In addition to Benson and Moorhead being brought on board to handle directing duties. Tom Hiddleston will return as Loki and also an executive producer in season 2. Michael Waldron who was the writer and showrunner for season 1, will also executive produce. Eric Martin, who was a staff writer in season 1, is writing all 6 episodes for the new season. This is the first Marvel Studios streaming show on Disney+ to officially begin work on season 2. All other shows have yet to be announced for any follow-up seasons.

From a casting perspective, only Hiddleston has been confirmed, but it’s likely we’ll see other familiar faces from season 1 return.

BENSON AND MOORHEAD JOIN LOKI

The work of the directing duo will be on display in March in Moon Knight, which they were brought on to direct a few episodes. Marvel and Disney were seemingly impressed with their work, so quickly looked for more projects for them. This landed them at the top of the list for primary directing duties on Loki.
