The Marvel universe was shattered in 2021 with movies and series like Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home. In 2022 we have Black Panther: Wakanda Forever set to make big waves. According to Bleeding Cool, they have some details regarding appearances by Namor and Doctor Doom in the Black Panther sequel. As with any rumor, take these how you will, plans change with Marvel all the time.
The war between Atlantis and Wakanda should be the central tenet of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. With Atlantis going to war, that means Namor The Sub-Mariner, his cousin Namora, and the Atlantean warlord Attuma all make appearances in the film. The original source at Bleeding Cool also mentions that Namor’s appearance is to set up an upcoming franchise for the character like Black Panther in Civil War.
The other big character they tease appearing is Doctor Doom. According to their sources, it’s a small appearance, if that, to imply that Doom was behind the war between Atlantis and Wakanda. Finally, they mention the casting choices and that Namor and the Atlanteans are a diverse bunch that are not blue, like in the comics.
These details mean that Wakanda Forever is shaping up as a huge pillar of the upcoming slate for the MCU. We’ll have to see when the film releases in theaters on November 11th, 2022.
