Did you like Electro (Jamie Foxx) in his debut in the new Spider-Man canon of Spider-Man: No Way Home? Well, according to new rumors, Sony liked him as well. Liked him enough to want to make his own spinoff film, really.

Electro: The Movie?

Now there’s the face of a happy supervillain at getting his own film…maybe.

According to Murphy’s Multiverse, Sony is apparently now very interested in having Jamie Foxx return as Electro in his own Marvel film. This will apparently be a spinoff of Spider-Man: No Way Home in which the electric supervillain gets a starring role. Aside from that though, there’s no other info about this supposed film.

Murphy’s Multiverse did note Sony hasn’t actually given this supposed Electro film a green-light yet. Hence, the lack of any actual info about this supposed film. No release date, no cast, nothing. In fact, we’ll have to wait for official word from Sony just to confirm if this rumor even has a grain of truth to it. Take it with a grain of salt until then.

Spider-Man: No Way Home ~ More Spinoffs Incoming?

The only complaint I have about this is the lack of subtitles. Other than that, I’m good.

Supposing that rumor from Murphy’s Multiverse is true, it begs the question as to whether other villains from Spider-Man: No Way Home might get their own spinoff films as well. You know, to attempt to one-up Tom Holland? If I had to guess, my bet would be Doc Ock (Alfred Molina). His importance to the plot of the story, both in this film and the previous one, makes him a pretty obvious candidate for his own spinoff film. Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe) would be my second guess, due to how much of an iconic villain he is in the Spider-Man universe.

Again though, all this is speculation barring any official news from Sony about any Spider-Man: No Way Home spinoff film. Take it with a grain of salt until we hear about that.
