With Pixar and Marvel already under her belt, Ally Maki has her sights set on the next big thing: a role in Star Wars.
During the press conference for Home Sweet Home Alone, Maki revealed her interest in appearing in a project in a galaxy far far away.
“I feel like I’m working towards that trifecta…You do Marvel, you do Pixar… I feel like I’m close, so maybe something in the Star Wars world would [be next],” said Maki.
The actress voiced Giggle McDimples in Toy Story 4. She also starred in the Marvel series Cloak & Dagger as Mina Hess, and lends her voice to the upcoming Marvel animated series Hit-Monkey on Hulu.
Since we’re big Star Wars fans at THS, when we sat down one-on-one with Maki, we had to ask her about her dream role in the franchise.
“Wouldn’t it be so cool to play a Stormtrooper?” Maki asked.
She explained the role has the opportunity to go different places, and compared what she would like to do in Star Wars to Finn’s storyline from the sequels.
“Is she good, is she bad? Kind like how Finn was… I think it’d be cool to see a woman Stormtrooper and what that story could be,” she added.
You can watch Maki discuss Star Wars, as well as her new film Home Sweet Home Alone, in our interview below.
“I feel like my 10-year-old self just keeps pinching myself. I get to be in Toy Story 4 and now Home Alone. It’s just too much, it’s so awesome,” said Maki.
Well, we’ll definitely keep an eye out to see if Maki lands that Star Wars role next. Until then, you can stream her film Home Sweet Home Alone on Disney+.
