Guillermo Del Toro is known for his horror movies. Nightmare Alley might sound like one, but it’s not. He’s making sure to let everyone know that this isn’t a horror movie. Here’s how the synopsis goes:
In NIGHTMARE ALLEY, an ambitious carny (Bradley Cooper) with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) who is even more dangerous than he is.
It stars Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Rooney Mara, Ron Perlman, and David Strathairn. It arrives on December 17th, 2021 in theaters. Nightmare Alley is based on a book by William Lindsay Gresham. That novel, published in 1946, is the basis for the script written by Del Toro and Kim Morgan.
We’ll have to see how it is, when it releases in theaters.
