Kevin Hart is a huge name in comedy. But now, he’s ready to show off his more serious side in a new Netflix limited series, True Story.
And he’ll have an impressive acting vet to play off of, as none other than Wesley Snipes will play Hart’s brother in the series.
In True Story, a tour stop in Kid’s (Hart) hometown of Philadelphia becomes a matter of life and death for one of the world’s most famous comedians when the consequences of a lost evening with his wayward older brother (Snipes) threaten to destroy everything he’s built.
Hart executive produces True Story under Hartbeat Productions. The role marks his dramatic series debut. Narcos showrunner Eric Newman also executive produces. Directing duties for the seven episode series will be split between two TV vets; Stephen Williams (Watchmen, Lost) will direct the first three episodes. Hanelle Culpepper (Star Trek Picard, Kung Fu) directs the final four.
In addition to Hart and Snipes, the series stars Tawny Newsome, Will Catlett, Paul Adelstein, Theo Rossi, Ash Santos, John Ales, Chris Diamantopoulos, Lauren London, and Billy Zane.
We don’t have a trailer for the series yet, but you can check out some first look images below.
True Story premieres globally on Netflix November 24.
