Anyone familiar with Vanguard Princess? No? Well, all you need to know right now is that A) it’s a game on Steam, B) it has a digital comic adaptation you can get with the game, and C) it’s about to finally get Ch. 3.

Hmm, reminds me of Skullgirls.

eigoMANGA is proud to officially announce Ch. 3 of the Vanguard Princess digital comic. This new chapter is titled “No Extradition”. Considering that the comic launched on May 7, 2028; it’s a pretty slow rate of updates, but hey, late is better than never.

The Vanguard Princess digital comic is available exclusively on Steam. Note though that you need the base game in order to read the comic. It doesn’t make sense, but there you have it. You can purchase the Vanguard Princess game also on Steam. Note that as of this writing, to commemorate the release of Ch. 3, there is currently a Steam sale on all Vanguard Princess-related media, including the digital comic. The sale will last until September 20, 2021. If you want to play the game and/or read the comic, now’s the best time to do so.

Vanguard Princess: Details

Took you long enough, but nice cover.

So what is Vanguard Princess about? Well, it’s a 2D doujin fighting game that eigoMANGA released on Steam back in March 3, 2014. However, they didn’t develop the game. They only did an English localization. The real genius behind the game is a Japanese programmer and illustrator named Tomoaki Sugeno, who goes by the nickname Suge9. He made the entire game by himself, which is quite impressive, really.

Heh, they’re playing Street Fighter. Nice meta joke.

It’s unknown if Sugeno drew this digital comic. There’s no information about the author of the digital comic either way. Not even from eigoMANGA themselves, funnily enough. All we have is their official synopsis:

Chapter 3 of the ‘Vanguard Princess’ comic book series is an exclusive digital DLC (downloadable content) to the PC game. Both the comic and game are available through the digital distribution platform, Steam.

In the story of Vanguard Princess Chapter 3 titled “No Extradition”, The Nayuta Corporation discovered that a mysterious girl possessed cosmic abilities. They held her captive and subjected her to cruel experiments.

The experiments caused a cosmic shockwave that enabled people within the organization to help her escape. This same cosmic shockwave gifted various girls with mystical powers. A girl possessing these powers are now referred to as a ‘Vanguard Princess’.

The Nayuta Corporation will not stop until they recapture the girl; even if it causes an international incident.

Conclusion

eigoMANGA has finally released Ch. 3 of the Vanguard Princess digital comic. You know, the one that’s a tie-in to the 2D fighting game on Steam. Speaking of Steam, the comic itself is exclusive to Steam, and for some reason requires the base game to read. If you want to read it, you’re going to have to get the game itself on Steam. Fortunately, there’s a sale going on to commemorate the release of Ch. 3 until September 20, 2021. If you want to read the comic and play the game, now seems like a good time to do so.
