If you’re like me, anything John Carpenter is gold. Whether that’s producing the upcoming Halloween Kills or his new album Lost Themes III. While he might be taking his time on a directorial comeback, he’s making plenty of great music to fill the gap. The synth-pop band CHVRCHES partnered with Carpenter for a remix of his song ‘Turn the Bones’. In turn, Carpenter remixed their track ‘Good Girls’. You can grab the track on 7′ vinyl that’s available now for pre-order from Sacred Bones Records.
Lauren Mayberry of CHVRCHES had this to say about Carpenter and his legacy:
His films and music have been so impactful on us over the years, and without the stories he created I am not sure that the concept of Screen Violence (and female narratives within the album) would exist in the way they do. As horror fans, we know that John Carpenter is the godfather and the gold standard and we’re so excited to get to work with him in any capacity … We never really thought he’d reply, let alone that he’d send back something better than the original.
