What happens when you take Edgar Wright’s style and mix it with a mind-bending horror flick? You get Last Night In Soho. The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Jessie Mei Li, and Matt Smith. The official synopsis goes like this:
Edgar Wright’s psychological thriller about a young girl, passionate in fashion design, who is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But 1960s London is not what it appears, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences…
It looks like a blend of Being John Malkovich, and Vertigo almost. Edgar Wright is known for Baby Driver and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, this film looks no different from his distinct visual style. Those films might be fun action and adventure romps, but this goes deeper down the psychological thriller route.
You can check it out this October when it releases in theaters.
So, what do you think of Last Night In Soho from Edgar Wright?
