Henry Cavill is in talks for a Highlander reboot from John Wick director Chad Stahelski. According to Deadline, the two are in advance talks for a reboot of the classic film. The original 1986 film starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, and Clancy Brown. The immortal beings hunting down one another for infinite power is a concept that could easily be translated to today’s audiences. That film gave us four sequels, and three television series. It’s unknown at this time what the plot looks like.
It very well could be a reboot or another film in the same universe. I’m sure fans of the original are hoping it’s the latter. It’s been a long time coming for this, with different actors attached, but this is firm. Cavill seems to be the master of the fantasy and sci-fi with roles in DC’s Universe of films like Justice League and Man of Steel. He also stars in Netflix’s The Witcher, so he’s no stranger to the swords and sorcery.
We’ll keep you updated on this story as it develops, but this is sure to excite fans of the Highlander franchise.
