The Holmes siblings will return for more mystery, intrigue, and of course, case-cracking. Netflix announced it will move forward with a sequel to 2020’s Enola Holmes.
Millie Bobby Brown is set to return as the title character. Henry Cavill will also reprise his role as Enola’s older brother, the famous Sherlock Holmes.
Key members of the creative team will return for the sequel as well, including writer Jack Thorne and director Harry Bradbeer.
“I can’t wait to collaborate again with my Enola Holmes family! Enola holds a special place in my heart – she’s strong, fearless, intelligent and brave,” Brown said. “I look forward to fans seeing how her journey continues!”
Enola Holmes tells the story of Sherlock Holmes’ rebellious teen sister Enola, a gifted super-sleuth in her own right who often outsmarts her famous siblings. Netflix’s feature was adapted from Nancy Springer’s Edgar Award-nominated book series. The Enola Holmes Mysteries includes six total novels, so there’s plenty of content to pull from for a sequel film.
The original movie did quite well for Netflix, with an estimated 76 million households tuning in within a month of its premiere. So, it’s not surprising the streamer has tapped the property for a sequel.
Though unconfirmed, Deadline reports production on Enola Holmes 2 will likely begin later this year.
So, will you tune in for the Enola Holmes sequel? (We thought the first one was pretty fun, so why not, right?) Let us know if you’ll tune in below.
