Those who enjoy the darker, grittier side of Star Wars welcomed news of the Rogue One spinoff Andor series. Focusing once again on Rebel spy Cassian Andor, the series will chronicle his exploits prior to the events of Rogue One. We’ve already seen some leaked set photos to confirm the look and feel of the series (check them out HERE). The latest new set leak reveals what appears to be another new Star Wars ship we’ve not seen yet in the franchise.

The Bespin Bulletin Instagram account recently released an aerial drone photo showing what appears to be a new ship under construction, and possibly parts of others. You can see the new Star Wars ship in the post below. It seems to be some kind of transport, but unlike anything to appear in live-action thus far.

New Star Wars ship (and some old) to appear in Andor series

While we’ve seen many a “new” Star Wars ship in the various animated series, there’d been relatively little variety in live action until Rogue One. Surprisingly, at the time, social media was full of complaints about that fact. A chief complaint was that we’d never seen Imperial shuttles like the one Director Krennic utilized. Perhaps we all need to remember that the Empire ruled a galaxy, and the galaxy far, far away was vast. The Empire, and everyone else, likely had a plethora of ship designs we’ve not yet seen.

Live-action series Andor, The Mandalorian, and the other, upcoming series present a unique opportunity for Lucasfilm. What we are now experiencing now is a live-action expanded universe, full of new locations, species, characters and ships. We already know that the new Star Wars ship in Andor will join those of old. (For instance, an A-wing and Venator-class Star Destroyer, for sure). Fans can’t wait to see what else the series has in store for Disney+.
