A couple weeks ago, Gina Carano was fired from Lucasfilm and Disney for ‘controversial’ tweets. A statement from Lucasfilm said the following: “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.” Now, Carano speaks out for the first time to tell her side of the story. This past Sunday, she sat down with Ben Shapiro at The Daily Wire and finally got to tell her side of things.
Carano Speaks Out – Early Differences
Gina’s first issues with Disney and Lucasfilm arose when she began including Beep. Bop. Boop. in her twitter bio. The transgender community took offense to this. Here is how Gina describes what happened:
“I ended up putting Beep, bop, boop in my Twitter bio…It was 100% towards the Twitter mob telling me what to do, and it had zero to do with trying to go after the transgender Community because I would never do that…I literally said to my friend, ‘let’s put something in my bio just to show I can put whatever I want in my bio’…I just put these noises in my bio, and, uh, there was this crazy meltdown.”

Disney and her publicist told her she needed to meet with their LGBT/transgender people and issue an apology. After meting with them their response according to Gina was:
“And they basically were, you know, just two very gentle people and they were like we’re so, we’re sorry. You stepped in what they call a…a landmine, and we can you know you’re not here against us. They actually reported back to Disney and Lucasfilm, you know, they thought it would be a bad idea if they cancelled me, or if they let this affect anything.”

Carano Speaks Out – Fallout Began early On
Gina and Lucasfilm began a dance around an apology that Gina could not fully agree with. About this time they began cutting her out of publicity for The Mandalorian. Gina describes the atmosphere as such:
“All these Lucasfilm employees are railing me on their websites. One of them, a creative director, had a Go Fund Me and in the Go Fund Me bio its like, this is because or our ignorant actress.”
Gina Carano
They wanted her to go on a Zoom call with 40 other people from the LGBT community and Gina said the following:
“I felt like all these people…all your employees are slandering me, the hell out of me right now. Do you think I want to get on a video where they can film it?”

Carano Speaks Out – Things Did Not Improve
This incident, along with a couple minor tweets set the relationship between Gina and Lucasfilm on edge. Gina went on to talk about how she felt Lucasfilm was headhunting her. She described an incident weeks ago where an artist was instructed to remove Cara Dune from a piece and put another character in that spot. The artist proudly announced this on Twitter.
She talked about the bullying nature of ‘this company’ and could cite examples of where she went to bat for others, but she refused to give details to protect the other individual. She said: “Everyone’s afraid of losing their job.”
Carano Speaks Out – The Tweet That Ended It
But it was this final tweet that ended things for good. For those who may not have seen the tweet, here is exactly what Gina Carano posted:
Lucasfilm thought this too much, but Gina talks about how she found out and she says “I found out on the Internet.” Her trending on Twitter was her first notice of her firing.
Gina talks about her admiration for and inspiration from the Jewish people after seeing an old woman on television confront a Nazi, who was confined to a hospital bed, on trial. The Jewish woman forgave the Nazi in court and this inspired Gina. She says:
“So when I posted that, you know, it wasn’t something I felt was controversial. It was something I thought, well, maybe all of us need to ask ourselves how that happened. The post never said anything about Republicans or Conservatives. It doesn’t say anything about that in there. It was more about, like, you know, people tearing each other apart. I thought it would be more of a thing where you could like bring people together.”
Gina Carano
But then she says people need to be more respectful towards Jewish people when using the term Nazi and throwing it around.
“But now after hearing so much, and I’ve actually grown through the experience of just knowing that…It’s not fair to the Jewish community to just throw this out here so much. When you say the word Nazi and call someone Nazi you need to have a little more respect.”

Carano Speaks Out – Her Final Thoughts
Gina went on to say at the end:
“I have love for everyone. I am not a hateful person. In fact, I go out of my way and have gone out of my way my entire life not to be a hateful person. I fought in the ring and do have hot blood, but it’s usually hot blood when it deals with people being bullied…and I have a big problem with bullies.”
Gina Carano
Ben Shapiro went on to point out tweets from costar Pedro Pascal. Gina said the following about Pedro and their political differences:
“I adore Pedro…adore him,” Gina said. “I know he’s said and done some hurtful things, and I don’t think that posting anybody’s number on social media is okay, but I know he thinks that a lot of the stuff I post, you know, but there’s so much love there still, you know. We had an agreement after we realized we were a little bit politically different. We had an agreement that first and foremost you are a human being and you’re my friend first.”

If you would like to see the interview and hear Gina express her mind, it can be found on Facebook here, or at Dailywire.com. Was Disney right to fire Gina Carano? Or do Gina’s views make sense? Let us know your thoughts, but given the nature please keep all comments respectful.
Good riddance. She’s obviously not remorseful at all.
That’s indeed exactly what I thought : there was NO REASON for Disney/Lucasfilm to let this situation happen and fire her… not supporting the actress was clearly a way to let people’s interpretation get phantasmatic ! So on and letting the doubt growing from a wrong communication and interpretation of what she said… from here let me say to you I feel exactly like her : there is indeed a crazy situation in the USA regarding political tendencies of each and everyone … this wasn’t like that in the past, it was something that you could keep on a personal point of view and not necessarily getting into arguments with people… Now thanks to the insupportable comportment of the corrupted medias, this situation has come to a point where people are so influenced the bad way that now you can see them standing brother against brother, face to face with controversial and false acusations. Hasn’t this became a little bit crazy ??? Is there any hope people don’t let the medias blind them and begin to open their eyes and talk real things ? Is there a way a small group of people with fads try to impose their way of interpreting to the whole country and try to rule the world ??? This kind of comportment is called totalitarism, this kind of way of acting is called tirany ! Come on people you’re standing in front of the wrong ennemy… Stop interpreting things always the way THEY want you to…. Be in peace with your neighbour whatever his political views, color of skin or origin: Not everyone has the same experience and there are many that unfortunately get manipulated and self victimized by the way this system get them to think … and this is called paranoia.
