While Hasbro and eOne are still deep into working on casting for their upcoming Dungeons And Dragons movie, there is some news about the live-action tv series.
Writer for the John Wick film franchise, Derek Kolstad, has been tapped for the tv series according to THR. While there isn’t too much news about what his plan/vision for the show will be, THR has also said that:
Kolstad isn’t the only scribe working on a D&D series, as eOne is now working with and looking for multiple writers to develop various projects set in the fantasy universe.
Now, the Chris Pine-led film isn’t set to start shooting until close to the end of the year, so we should, by then, at least know what storyline/location is being depicted in the film.
As far as this series, there are a lot of unknowns for it. Obviously, this won’t be releasing until at least after the film releases in theaters. And there is also potential it could end up on Netflix or even CBS All Access.
But the upside is there could be a lot of potential for the series to be set in either The Forgotten Realms or possibility even Baldur’s Gate.
