Oscar Isaac has gone from A Galaxy Far Far Away to the Fox Marvel Universe. Now he’s taking over the role of Solid Snake. According to Deadline, the actor is stepping into the shoes and cardboard box of Snake. Sony is producing a film based on the legendary video game franchise. The film, currently titled Metal Gear Solid is being directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. Derek Connolly is writing the screenplay. There’s no word on if Hideo Kojima is involved in the project at all or not.
Isaac has stated his interest in the character as far back as March 2019. It’s a match made in heaven. Fans are likely to be disappointed that David Hayter isn’t portraying the character, as he’s been the voice of Snake for his entire run. Like Nathan Drake in the upcoming Uncharted movie, the studio decided against the original voice actor.
Those are the only details we have on the film, though. So we’ll keep you updated on Metal Gear Solid as it develops.
So, what do you think of Oscar Isaac playing Solid Snake?
