The World Series this year was unprecedented. Not only was it a battle for the ages between the two best teams in baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays, but there’s the other circumstances surrounding it. You had the huge issue of COVID-19 clouding the season. Luckily for all of us, we still got a baseball season. Through outbreaks from teams, special travel arrangements, and the state of Texas being the honorary home of baseball for the month of October, we got the World Series.
Shout Factory brings you The 2020 World Series. Releasing December 8th, 2020, you can either get it on Blu-Ray or DVD in physical form or download. The best part besides the fact that the Dodgers won the World Series for the first time since 1988? Two words. Vin. Scully. That’s right, the greatest broadcaster of our time, Vin Scully narrates the entire thing. If you had to sit through the terrible broadcasting of John Smoltz for the entire World Series, at least you can take solace that Vin Scully lends his voice to this release.
The package includes all six games of the World Series, in-depth interviews with Mookie Betts, World Series MVP Corey Seager, Clayton Kershaw, plus a documentary with unparalleled access to the MLB Postseason bubble.
Fans of the Dodgers are also in store for a huge deluxe edition in February. Titled 2020 World Series Collector’s Edition: Los Angeles Dodgers. This special edition releases later next year, February 9th, 2021. It includes all the content in the regular edition plus another SIX discs of content.
