The trailer for Raya and the Last Dragon is here, and it looks like Raya is ready to be your new favorite action hero.

Check out the first trailer for Disney’s animated feature below.

The trailer gives us a fun look at Raya’s moves. The opening gives off a sort of 007/Indiana Jones vibe, with Raya thwarting traps in an underground cavern. But since it’s Disney, she does it all with the help of an adorable animal sidekick. (I’m not complaining. I love Tuk Tuk already.) We also get just a taste of Raya’s combat skills as she goes up against a masked foe.

The animation in Raya and the Last Dragon looks great. Check out the way the water runs over the stairs! I think the world Disney crafts in this movie will be one to remember.

Here’s Disney’s official synopsis of Raya and the Last Dragon:

Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.

Star Wars star Kelly Marie Tran voices Raya. Awkwafina voices the dragon Sisu.

Right now, Disney plans to release Raya and the Last Dragon theatrically on March 12, 2021. We’ll have to wait and see if COVID allows for that.
