Now that The Witcher has returned to production, we’re finally getting more information about what fans can expect from season 2. Now, we have a first look at Princess Cirilla thanks to the show’s Twitter account.
This morning The Witcher account tweeted a picture of Freya Allan as Ciri…alongside a hand picking up a sword.
The tweet reads, “She gave tearful goodbyes on a most violent night. Now this child of surprise is preparing to fight.”
Netflix also released a quick synopsis for The Witcher season 2. It reads:
“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
Between the tweet and the synopsis, it looks like we can expect Ciri to see some serious action in the upcoming season.
Allan will return as Ciri for season 2, alongside Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. Just yesterday Netflix unveiled a first look at Geralt’s new armor.
Other key cast members returning for season 2 include Anya Chalotra as Yennefer and Joey Batey as Jaskier.
The upcoming season will also bring in a number of new characters, including Kim Bodnia as Geralt’s mentor Vesemir and Mecia Simson as Elven sorceress Francesca. We’ll also see at least three other witchers (Paul Bullion, Yasen Atour, and Basil Eidenbenz).
At this time, The Witcher does not yet have an official release date for season 2.
