Fans have heard nothing about New Mutants for so long, many of us thought the film wasn’t even going to be released.
But good news! New Mutants seems to be moving forward after all. Today the studio announced the film will have a Comic-Con panel next week.
The panel will include a discussion with writer/director Josh Boone and stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt and Henry Zaga. The panel will be moderated by film critic and podcaster Ira Madison III. You can tune in to the discussion a week from today, July 23 at 2pm.
But wait, there’s more!
You don’t have to wait a week for more New Mutants content. Along with the Comic-Con announcement, the film dropped a new trailer. Check it out below:
The teaser only lasts about 45 seconds, but it reveals new footage from the film. Fans will be excited to see Anya Taylor-Joy tap into her sorcery powers as Illyana Rasputin/Magik.
About New Mutants
While technically part of the X-Men universe, New Mutants isn’t your typical superhero film. Rather than action/adventure, it’s a horror thriller. The film follows a group of young mutants trapped in an isolated hospital for psychiatric monitoring. When strange things start happening, both their powers and their friendships will be tested.
The mutants gang trying to escape the facility include Wolfsbane, Magik, Cannonball, Mirage, and Sunspot.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, San Diego Comic-Con switched to a virtual event this summer, dubbed Comic-Con@Home. All panels will be free to stream for everyone – no pass required! That means everyone can get their New Mutants fix.
