The new Mike Mills directed project for A24 films will star Joaquin Phoenix and Gaby Hoffman.
Joker actor Joaquin Phoenix will star in Mike Mills’ new movie, C’mon C’mon. Mike Mills directed 20th Century Women (2016), Beginners (2010), and Thumbsucker (2005). Mills was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for 20th Century Women.
The A24 project is still in post-production. So there is not a whole lot of information surrounding the project. However, the rumored plot revolves around an artist, played by Phoenix, bonding with his nephew on a cross country road trip.
With Joaquin Phoenix still generating buzz over his Academy Award winning performance as the DC villain, Joker, C’mon C’mon is surely going to grab people’s attention.
Actor and comedian Jaboukie Young-White is also connected to the project. Jaboukie, most known for his online presence, confirmed via his private Twitter account his involvement in Mills’ film. Over the past couple years, Jaboukie has racked up credits left and right. He is a correspondent on The Daily Show, he has written for Netflix’s Big Mouth and American Vandal, and has made cameos in HBO’s Crashing and BoJack Horseman. So a project alongside Phoenix will only boost Jaboukie’s career.
C’mon C’mon currently does not have a release date. But more information for the Joaquin Phoenix project should be coming soon.
