The new era horror queen Kathryn Newton is joining up with Samara Weaving for the sequel to the excellent Ready Or Not. According to Deadline, Newton is getting in on Radio Silence’s follow-up to their 2019 coming out party with Ready or Not 2. It’ll be her second collaboration with the filmmaking team after she starred in Abigail last year.
The original Ready or Not directors and writers are back with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directing and Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy writing the script. The first film followed Weaving as a Bride joining a rich and powerful family with a dark secret. On her wedding day, she’s forced to play in barbaric and lethal games with everyone fighting for their survival.
The sequel doesn’t have any plot details as of now, but it should follow Weaving continuing her night of hell from the first film.
What Has Kathryn Newton Been Up To?
The young actress has taken Hollywood by storm with her roles in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Freaky, Lisa Frankenstein, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, and Blockers. She’s quickly become a fan favorite in the horror community and this role in Ready or Not 2 should only add to that.
