Jason Statham is coming back for more odd jobs with The Beekeeper 2 from Miramax. The movie is a sequel to the best action film of 2024 and one of the biggest surprises at the box office that year. Nobody 2 director Timo Tjahjanto will direct the film with a script from Kurt Wimmer. It should start production this Fall. Deadline was the first with the news.

The first movie was directed by David Ayer and followed a former intelligence operative who goes out to avenge his kind-hearted landlady, who became the victim of a phishing scam that stole millions of dollars from a charity she runs. Ayer should be back in a producing role. The movie left open the possibility of more Beekeepers for Statham to either fight with or alongside.

Amazon MGM Studios is the domestic distributor. The Beekeeper came out at a pivotal time for the industry showing that audiences would come back to the box office after a strike-ridden year.

Tjahjanto comes from a horror and action background himself, directing the excellent The Shadow Strays, The Night Comes For Us, and The Big Four. He’s working on Nobody 2 currently with Bob Odenkirk. It also stars Sharon Stone and Connie Nielsen, which comes out on August 15th.

Statham currently has A Working Man coming out later this March, which follows his current track of getting together the regular job “Avengers” between Transporter, The Beekeeper, and A Working Man.
