Actor Gene Hackman, along with his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead in their home in New Mexico. The couple were also found with their dog, who had also died. Their causes of death have not been confirmed, but foul play is not suspected. Deputies in Santa Fe responded to a welfare check at the residence on Wednesday afternoon and discovered Hackman, Arakawa, and their dog. Police have stated the investigation is on-going and on cause of death has been determined.
Gene Hackman’s Career
Hackman’s had a lengthy career in Hollywood, spanning six decades. The actor received numerous awards and nominations, including Oscar’s for Best Actor for portrayal of New York cop Popeye Doyle in 1971’s The French Connection. He won a second Oscar for Best Supporting Acotr for his role as Little Bill Daggett in Clint Eastwood’s 1992 film, Unforgiven. Hackman’s last role was in 2004 comedy, Welcome to Mooseport.
