Get ready to set sail. Moana’s newest adventure officially arrives on streaming soon. Moana 2 makes its Disney+ debut on March 12.
In the Disney animated sequel, the newly-minted wayfinder Moana answers an unexpected call from her ancestors to find a lost island that will reunite her people with those from other lands. To accomplish her mission, Moana must travel further than ever before — all while knowing there’s a chance she will never return home.
The feature sees Auli’i Cravalho reprising her voice role as the film’s title character. Dwayne Johnson also returns as trickster demigod Maui. The voice cast also features returning stars Rachel House (Gramma Tala), Temuera Morrison (Chief Tui), and Nicole Scherzinger (Sina).
Of course, a new adventure wouldn’t be complete without some new characters. Moana 2 also features the talents of Hualālai Chung, David Fane, and Rose Matafeo as Moana’s new crew members Moni, Kele, and Loto, respectively. Awhimai Fraser voices the mysterious Matangi and Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda lends her voice to Moana’s adorable little sister, Simea.
David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller direct the animated sequel. Moana 2 also features new music by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa‘i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.
The original Moana is streaming now on Disney+; starting March 12, you can also stream Moana 2 on the platform.
