DC Studios talked about Jason Momoa’s Lobo and what they have planned for his take on the character. James Gunn and Peter Safran laid out their thoughts for the future of DC Studios on Friday. Phase Hero’s Brandon Davis is sharing all the information he got in a new video.

Gunn is excited about Lobo’s upcoming debut in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Filming is going on right now. Craig Gillespie is behind the camera for that movie. It sounds like DC fans should be pretty excited for Momoa rolling up on that motorcycle for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

There’s some fuel behind him. Same thing as Harley Quinn coming out in Suicide Squad,” Gunn began. “She’s not as well known by everyone but there is a lot of fandom behind Harley Quinn. Lobo is one of those characters. Deathstroke is one of those characters.”

“Those are character that have a lot of people behind them, who love them, but aren’t known by the general public the way that Wonder Woman or Superman or Batman is,” Gunn added. “Lobo was always something to play with.”

Lobo is a role that Jason Momoa wanted for a while. The actor was teasing a possible role swap for years. On Instagram, every small mention of Lobo by James Gunn was met with 8,000 eyeball emojis. Momoa explained that DC Studios finally came calling late last year. There was a lot of celebration among DC fans as the movie was praised as the perfect casting. The former Aquaman star reflected on a quote that helped start all of this on social media.

“So Lobo was…I collect comics, and I don’t do so much anymore, but he was always my favorite, and I always wanted to play Lobo, because I’m like, ‘Hello? It’s the perfect role,” Momoa typed. “I mean, listen. If they call and ask me to play him, it’s a f*ck yeah. I haven’t received that call, so I don’t want to put any fake news out there, but if they ever call me and ask me to play, or ask me to audition, I’m there.”
