Looney Tunes is a title that a lot of older audiences will clearly remember. After all, it’s one of the most famous animated comedy series in the world. In fact, ever since it first began its run in 1930 as a series shorts to showcase Warner Bros.’s music library (as well as to directly compete with Disney’s Mickey Mouse shorts), it has attained a level of popularity not to dissimilar to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dora the Explorer, and Pac-Man. It has honestly become one of the highest-grossing franchises in history because of that. Amazing accomplishments for the likes of Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, and the like, really.

Alas, in the modern day of 2025, it feels like Looney Tunes has fallen by the wayside. You don’t even hear about it in the public consciousness anymore. It just feels like it’s an old classic destined for the archives and just content to sit there for the rest of time.

Until now, that is. Or rather, until it premiered at Annecy back in June 11, 2024. I’ll bet the last thing people expected to see from Warner Bros. is a feature-length Looney Tunes film, entirely in handdrawn animation. Don’t believe me? Then why not check out the brand new official trailer for that film, and see for yourself if Porky Pig and Daffy Duck in modern day animation is the thing for you?

So when we will be able to see this return of an age-old franchise, you might ask? Well, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie will make its theatrical debut on March 14, 2025. Alas, tickets are not yet on sale for it. However, when they do go on sale, you can find them at Fandango.
