You know how a while back, Crunchyroll revealed that Colombian music star J Balvin will voice someone in the English and Spanish dubs of Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-? Someone who they were really cagey about revealing at the time. Seriously, they were really hesitant to reveal who he would be voicing. There were zero details about his character, which suggests that they wanted to keep it a surprise right up until Balvin’s vocal appearance.
Welp, it appears that Crunchyroll is done hiding that character’s identity. Presumably because it will only be another two days before the relevant dub of that Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow- episode will make its debut. So who will J Balvin voice, you might ask? Well, regular viewers of this second season of Solo Leveling will recognize the name Kargalgan. After all, he was the big boss villain of the dungeon for two whole episodes of the anime.
Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-: J Balvin as Kargalgan Details
Crunchyroll is proud to confirm that J Balvin will get to voice the dungeon boss Kargalgan for his appearances in Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-. Do note though that he won’t just be voicing the orc shaman boss in English dub. He will also be voicing him in the Spanish dub as well. Thus, you can hear his voice in both dubs if you so wish. In fact, Balvin himself is so eager for the role that he has a few words on the subject below:
There is immense power in bringing a character like Kargalgan to life – his darkness, his fury, and his strength. Voicing him in Solo Leveling has been an incredible experience and tremendous honor.
And when will you be able to hear his voice, you might ask? Well, J Balvin will make his vocal debut in Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow- on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 1 p.m. / 4 p.m. ET. However, that debut will be in English. If you want to hear his Spanish debut, then you will have to wait a week for the Spanish dub to make its debut on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the same time as before.
